Efgahnie’s thoughts on our new life

Friday January 16. Between Ashland and Fairfax Virginia

Walt Whitman knew the feeling about one hundred years ago.  He wrote a poem named “Song Of The Open Road”.  Today that  poem is being lived out – as a  poetic Journey is made by a group of Americans , who for many reasons, including money, decided to begin their statement of love and Change by attending the Presidential inauguration of Barack Obama – using bicycle power.
A journey beginning in Los Angeles California, taking turns along our Southern States to meet and talk and learn from personal touch. The journey was conceived by Ryan Bowen. And then supported and traveled with his colleagues who have a combined interest and ability in Everything.

We are near Northern Virginia today.  Ashland to Fairfax Virginia, Friday January 16. At night, I watch people as they look at our frigid biking survivors. I watch them as they wonder if they might do the same some day. “Is there something like that maybe – in my future? When I graduate or change careers? Maybe along with Wind power, there might be a  business that will support me and my family. Maybe there is a bike business or bike repair school I can begin. Perhaps I don’t have to knock my competitors out of business to be successful. Maybe I don’t have to take another persons dream to achieve my own.

As the Ryan, “Biking For Obama” team introduce themselves ,and what they are doing to the country they CHANGE America in some of the ways we need. Some of the ways we have forgotten as we watch movies and television programs that show crime and dirty dealing.
